Simeen is a social practice artist from New Delhi, India, based in Portland. She was raised in post-liberalization India, a period that reshaped the urban landscape and neighbourhoods. While on one hand, this world presented a sense of freedom in ways of being, the stratification across class, caste & religion created tensions that manifested in her everyday life. Simeens practice represents a conscientious effort to grapple personal insights and a broader political context.
