Zomerhuis

Zomerhuis

Femke Stout & Jonne Stout

Opening 13 Jul 2025, 16:00

13 Jul –

20 Aug 2025

Over the course of two months, two artists immerse themselves in the infrastructure of the House.

The Van Abbehuis supports contemporary artists in developing their practice by experimenting with new forms of production within the villa’s historic spaces. The working residency spans a period of two to three months, during which the rhythm and environment of the Summer House function as a workspace for cultural production. During this period, the work is developed within a methodology in which public input serves as an incentive for new work. Van Abbehuis provides residents with the building blocks for a process-driven approach and annually welcomes both international artists with an interest in Eindhoven’s post-industrial landscape, as well as artists with a local focus on participatory engagement.

During their research into ecological processes, natural and mechanical phenomena, and community, Femke and Jonne Stout organized public-oriented events featuring an open kitchen.
