The smoke-free living room of the Van Abbehuis, once the base of a family of cigar manufacturers, serves as a space for this dialogue: the past and the future meet here. Elements of Eindhoven’s history come together here: smoking rituals, places where cigars were lit, dreams of an emission-free future, all connected to the temporality of memory. Models, anecdotes, and objects serve as illustrations of this history.
During the opening, a walk takes place in which participants carry a life-sized cigar past various shisha and tobacco shops in Eindhoven, concluding at the former cigar factory.
