The collective explores how collaboration, collectivity and shared authorship can take shape beyond fixed roles, hierarchies and identities. From a practice of improvisation, exchange and mutual influence, performances, films, publications, exhibitions and other temporary constellations emerge. Central is the idea of the ensemble: a multi-voiced community in which differences, contradictions and diverging perspectives are not smoothed over, but instead made productive.

For more than 30 years, De Link has shown that the work of contemporary composers is a living, breathing practice. Unexpected combinations of genres, radical points of view, fresh ideas about the role of the performer. There is always something new to discover. Dreamy soundscapes, wayward rituals, or virtuoso acrobatics: every concert is different. As makers and performers, De Link shares its enthusiasm with the audience. Each season, music by around 70 present-day composers is performed. De Link offers a stage to international top talent while supporting the development of young musicians. This happens across different locations, through new productions from home and abroad, born from De Link’s own initiatives or from collaborations.
