Frans Franssen

Window in Time

19 Mar –

24 Apr 2022

The exhibition functions as a temporary workspace in which existing and new works are set into circulation. Paintings, objects, and spatial interventions do not appear as finished statements, but as elements of an unfolding investigation into perception, scale, and construction. Inside and outside, surface and volume, figuration and abstraction are not opposed here, but continuously rearranged.

Franssen approaches the image as a passage: a place where seeing and constructing coincide. His work activates space as a space for thought, in which sightlines shift and meaning stabilizes only temporarily. During the exhibition, he develops new work on site, brought together in precise spatial constellations.

Frans Franssen

Frans Franssen lives and works in Eindhoven and has taught at, among others, TU Eindhoven, the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts, and TU Lisbon. He works at the intersection of painting, sculpture, and installation. His practice focuses on the construction of space and the instability of perception.
