This sounding board group is a learning environment for young artists and uses a mix of seminars, workshops, and excursions to explore how institutions use the languages and roles that produce meaning. In collaboration with local and international professionals, they critically redefine various concepts based on their expectations and issues. Together, they learn about the programs and intentions of various organizations in the city and reflect on how culture is produced in and around Van Abbehuis. Over the past edition, it has addressed questions such as empowerment and social urgency and developed ways to make young voices heard. Abby is pro-activation, anti-doomscrolling, and focuses on developing new ways to draw attention to online and offline exhibitions. Abby is led by Maxime Lehnen, educator.
