A screening program and gathering exploring migration, labour, and ritual through moving image works by Radu-Mihai Tănasa, Ibrahim Kurt, Marina Sulima, and Ines Kocijan, inviting reflection on the unseen networks of care, work, and belonging that shape everyday life.

The program brought together four moving image works that examined the journeys of people, practices, and labour across the European periphery. Through stories embedded in fields, homes, kitchens, workplaces, and landscapes, the works traced how migration is experienced not only through movement between places but through the everyday acts that sustain communities. Labour emerged as an embodied condition, intertwined with memory, care, survival, and cultural continuity, while remaining largely invisible within contemporary systems of production and consumption.

Framed by a series of open questions: Who does it better, a machine or a person? Who is bringing you your food? Where did these tomatoes come from? When does a ritual become an act of response?

The gathering considered ritual as an evolving practice rather than a fixed tradition. Across the films, gestures of repetition, observation, and presence became forms of knowledge carried through the body, revealing how identities are continuously negotiated between places, languages, and systems of belonging.

Rather than offering definitive answers, the screening created a space for attentive observation and collective reflection. By bringing together diverse artistic perspectives, it encouraged viewers to consider their own position within interconnected networks of labour, migration, and consumption, and to reflect on the often-unseen relationships that shape everyday life.
